November 12, 2018 (KHARTOUM) – Sudanese security services have launched a joint campaign to collect weapons in the eastern state of Kassala and announced the seizure of arms, unregistered vehicles and foreign currencies.

Since the end of 2017, the state of Kassala has been under emergency law, which was extended last June for additional six months, in order to curb cross-border smuggling and human trafficking. Also, the government decided the closure of the border with neighbouring Eritrea.
