The state minister for foreign affairs Ali Karti, who represented the Sudan in the meeting, praised the supportive position of Arab ministers. He further said the Arab League has designated the rebel attack on Khartoum as "terrorist" and considered groups exercising such acts as "terrorist" movements.

The Sudanese official added that the Arab meeting on Sunday called on the international community to designate movements committing such operations as terrorist organizations

The Arab League council further called on the Secretary General Amr Musa to follow up the recent developments in Sudan. The council called on Sudan’s neighbors to respect the sovereignty of the fellow Arab country.

Arab ministers also urged the AL Secretary General for immediate contacts with the Chairman of the African Union Commission to establish a joint Arab-African initiative supporting the observance of the principles of good neighbourliness and dissemination of stability in the region.

The Council stressed the need for full commitment to the principles of good neighbourliness calling on neighboring countries of Sudan to cease supporting any armed groups using its territory as springboard to threaten the unity, security, stability and territorial integrity of Sudan.

The meeting also demanded rebel groups opposed to the Darfur peace Agreement to renounce military escalation and to commit to dialogue as the only way to achieve peace in Darfur.

The meeting also asked the international community to exert efforts to prevent military opposition to the DPA or through inciting tribal inside IDPs and refugees camps.

The Arab ministers called on the UN Security Council to take necessary measures to impose appropriate sanctions on any armed movements aiming at threatening peace and security and stability in Sudan and hampering the peace process in Darfur.

  • The world of wonders is the Arab League, if they call Darfur rebels the ’terrorists’ because they attacked Umdurman then what would they call Omer El Bashir and his allies who overthrew the elected government of Sadig El Mahdi and the Arab Janjawid who constantly attack Darfur villages!!! The fact is that a robber cannot called another robber, a robber.

Breaking News Dead bodys in khatoum Arab Jalaba

12 May 2008 – (Khartoum) – Seventeen Sudan Armed Forces soldiers are confirmed dead and more than 15 wounded in an attack by the Darfur anti-government group, the Justice and Equality Movement, on Saturday in Omdurman.

The number of JEM soldiers killed has not been confirmed. However, Sudan Television reports two commanders of the movement, convoy leader Mohammed Salih Jabra and the intelligence chief Mohammed Nouri-Din, were killed.

No specific information about the number of civilians killed or wounded is yet available.

Sudan Radio Service Khartoum bureau producer Nichola Mandil reports that on Sunday the Governor of Khartoum state, Dr. Abdelalim Al-Mutasi, announced that a curfew is being imposed in order to help security organs search for any JEM fighters who may still be in the capital. The curfew means people will be restricted to their homes from 5 p.m. until 10 a.m. the next day. Mandil says despite the curfew, Khartoum itself is starting to return to normal, with only Omdurman still off-limits.

[Nichola Mandil]: “From eastern Sudan, Port Sudan and Kassala, people are coming to Khartoum by bus. From Gezira, Madeni and from El-Obeid the movement is fine. Only movement is restricted in Omdurman and also in some areas from Khartoum-North. But otherwise in different areas the markets are opened, but only to enter Omdurman is not possible at all and from Omdurman to enter Khartoum is not possible.”

Mandil quotes Governor Al-Mutasi asking citizens in the capital to respect the curfew and report what the governor called “suspicious movements.”

Meanwhile, Sudan Television is quoting sources within the Sudan Armed Forces as saying they will pay 250 million Sudanese pounds for any information that leads to the capture or death of JEM leader, Dr. Khalil Ibrahim.

On Sunday, Dr. Ibrahim told the BBC that he was in Khartoum and was headed to the Republican Palace in order to topple the Sudan government, but the Sudan Armed Forces says it has repulsed and chased the movement away from the capital. Early Monday morning there were some reports that Dr. Ibrahim has now been captured, but this could not be confirmed.

Some eyewitnesses in Khartoum told Rudan Radio Service on Sunday said that they saw many dead bodies lying on the streets in Omdurman and vehicles apparently belonging to JEM were destroyed and burning.

The eyewitnesses also said that they saw JEM soldiers moving all over Omdurman, especially around Suk Libya and even up to Suk Al-Shabi.

After returning from Saudi Arabia, President Omer Al-Bashir says that Sudan has cut diplomatic relations with Chad following the attack, blaming Chad for supporting and financing the anti-government group. Some alleged JEM soldiers who were captured appeared on Sudan Television saying they came from Chad.

However, Chad says it was not involved in the attacks. Speaking to Al-Jazeera television, the Chadian information minister called on the Sudanese government and all the Darfur movements to continue seeking a peaceful solution to the conflict.

But a peaceful solution seems further away than ever. Presidential Adviser Mustafa Osman Ismail says that peace talks between the national government and the Justice and Equality Movement would be suspended as a result of the attacks.

The attack on the capital had impact outside Darfur, as well. First Vice President of the Republic and President of the Government of Southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, condemned the attacks and announced the SPLM would postpone its second national convention, which was supposed to start in Juba on Sunday.

The attack also garnered attention from outside the country. The United States government says it is very concerned by the outbreak of violence in Khartoum and is urging both sides to exercise restraint. And UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon also expressed concern about the fighting and called for an immediate ceasefire.

Why is the media joking with us or it is the Sudantribune giving us the photos of the Khartoum street urchins as the rebels. Those who attack them are known as smart gentlemen who came to die respectfully just like the other muslim terrorists who do their job descently.

  • Bravo JEM, that attack on Khartoum was long overdue. it was time to show to the Jalaba that killing African children and raping Africans women in Southern Sudan, in Blue Nile, in The Nuba Mountains and finally in Greater Dar fur will never go unchecked. In facts it was times for these monsters t to test the fruits of their actions.

Whole the world is Witness today of how hypocrites are the members of so Call "Arabs League" Instead of Terrorists League. They go ballistic when a Palestinian is kill in confrontation with Israelis security forces and they go silent when millions of Africans are killed and millions more displaced mainly in Southern Sudan by the National Islamic Front of Chief Terrorist Omer Hassan Al Bashir.

Today in Dar fur, conservatives estimates puts the death toll at more then 300,000; 2.5 millions peoples displaced and 300,000 made refugees and yet not a single Arab or Islamic country has condemn the genocidal policies of NIF regime in Khartoum. Why not?

The answer is simple, for centuries the Arabs have been conquering Africans lands using a variety of methods; on top those is Trade, Islam and Wars. Arabs first came to Africa as traders, when they discovered that the continent was a better place for living than they introduce the Islam a the way to conquer the heart of the Africans in order to let them settle. Once they gain foothold than they start showing their real intentions by waging wars of conquest.

Does African know The real Intentions of The Jalaba regarding Africa?

The answer is Yes and No

Why yes?. Because the African people of Southern Sudan, Nuba mountains and today our brothers from Dar fur who were blindfold by the Arabs using the religion as the way to divide and rule. Finally, The Republic of Uganda and Federal Republic of Ethiopia.

Why no? Because the majority of Africans do not understand yet the threat the Arabs world pose to the National security of The Africans Countries. The evidence was during The North- South Sudan Civil Wars when the Islamic and Arabs countries Sided with their brothers from the North in one hand on the other hand people of Southern Sudan were left to the mercy of the Jalaba. This show Ignorance of many Africans governments in understanding that war in Southern Sudan was about defending the rights of all Africans. The floodgates would have opens to Central African Republic Republic of Uganda, Republic of Kenya and Ethiopia if the people of Southern were defeated. The process of Islamization and Arabization would have been on Steroid giving the nature of people in Central and East Africa whom are more likely be bought by petrodollars then their peers in Southern Sudan.

It’s time for African leaders to think and form an exclusively Sub-Saharan Pan African Organization that will have a mandate to defend the rights of Black Africans every were in the continent instead of relying on African Union which is handicapped by Arabs who have their own Arabs League.
