Sudanese opposition studies govt proposal on resumption of Cairo talks

CAIRO, June 3, 2005 (MENA) — Chairman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) John Garang continued his talks in Cairo today with the leaders of the Sudanese National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

He met the alliance leader, Mohamed Osman al-Mirghani, and held a meeting with members of the two delegations in which the alliance’s command authority and the delegation accompanying Garang took part.

The Egyptian news agency (MENA) has learnt from Sudanese sources that special proposals for the resumption of the talks between the Sudanese government and the NDA are currently discussed.

It has also been learnt that the Sudanese government put forward specific proposals in this respect and that these are currently examined by the members of the two delegations.
