Sudanese First Vice President meets US Secretary of State
KHARTOUM, July 21, 2005 (SUNA) — First Vice President John Garang De Mabior has called on US to make available the aid it pledged in Oslo donors conference and support efforts for finding a solution for Darfur problem.

Receiving US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at the Republican Palace Thursday, the First Vice President affirmed that implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement is progressing as planned.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Mustafa Osman Ismail said in a press statement that the First Vice President called on US to extend humanitarian and development aid to all areas in Sudan, specially the affected areas in the south, eastern Sudan and Darfur.
He said John Garang affirmed during the meeting commitment of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) to work in the framework of the national unity government to end the conflicts in eastern Sudan and Darfur.
Ismail pointed out that the Secretary of State affirmed during her meeting with the First Vice President US commitment to help the national unity government for implementation of the peace agreement and to fulfill its pledges in Oslo and solving Darfur problem.
