First vice-president holds talks with governor of bank of Sudan

Sept 3, 2005 (Khartoum) — The first vice-president of the Republic and President of government of Southern Sudan, Lt-Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit, Saturday [3 September] received at his office in the Republican Palace the governor of the Bank of Sudan, Dr Sabir Muhammad al-Hasan.

During the meeting Kiir was briefed on technical studies carried out by the central bank for the implementation of the peace agreement, issuance of new banknotes, establishment of the branch of the Bank of Sudan in South Sudan, revising laws and the restructuring of the Bank of Sudan.

Following the meeting, Dr Al-Hasan told Suna that he congratulated Lt-Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit on assuming the office of the first vice-president of the Republic and President of government of Southern Sudan.
