Sudan cotton company profits reach 465m dinars

Sept 13, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — Total of the net profits of Sudan Cotton Company for the year 2003 – 2004 have reached 465 million dinars (US$ 2), said Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, Abbas Abdul-Bagi, at the eighth annual meeting of the company’s General Assembly.

Abbas indicated that the company has assigned 340 million dinars to boost the activities of the Agricultural Research Corporation regarding cotton cultivation, adding that such a support has resulted in the production of new five cotton varieties toward enhancement of the production of cotton.

He said that Sudan Cotton Company also contributed to the funding of cotton cultivation at the areas of the Nuba Mountains and the White and Blue Niles, besides its support to the capital of the Nuba Mountains Ginning Company.
