Sudan’s Kiir receives nominations for southern government
Oct 4, 2005 (JUBA) — The First Vice-President and President of Southern Sudan, Lt-Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit, has received nominations from the ruling National Congress (NC) and the Sudan African National Unity (SANU) party to occupy the constitutional positions in the government of Southern Sudan according to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
The deputy chairman of the Southern Sudan government, Riek Machar informed the press.
He further said that the rest of the northern and southern parties had not presented their nominations to the government of the south to date.
