New telecom company launches network in Sudan
Nov 28, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — Sudanese Canar Telecommunications Company launched its modern telecommunications network at a gathering presided over by president Omer al Bashir on Sunday 27, 2005.
The new network uses Next Generation Network (NGN) applications, which relies on the Internet based Protocols (IP) and other advanced technologies including fiber optic cables and wireless networks to provide DSL high-speed Internet, data and telephone services.
This network is set to rank the Sudan as among the first few countries that use such technologies in their networks and pave the way for the Sudanese business and industrial sectors to benefit from such sophisticated and high-quality services.
The Chairman of Board of Directors of the company Mohamed Hassan Omran, said: “Emirates Telecommunication Corporation- Etisalat- wishes to establish a long-term strategic and continuing partnership with the Sudanese government and all other vital sectors of the country, and will assist Canar Telecommunication Company in their mission to provide excellent services for the benefit of this country.”
Canar Telecommunication’s Managing Director, Saood Al Jenaibi, focused on the role played by Canar’s network in providing modern telecommunication services to the Sudanese people. He emphasized the developments that the company brought to the field of telecommunications and Information Technology.
