Sudanese VP Salva Kiir to meet Ethiopian PM Zenawi

Dec 7, 2005 (ADDIS ABABA) — The first vice-president, Lt-Gen Salva Kiir, who started an official visite to Ethiopia yesterday, will hld talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and the Ethiopian foreign minister.

Yesterday Salava Kiir has briefed AU Commission President Alpha Omar Konare on all the steps taken so far to implement the peace agreement.

The meeting also tackled the efforts the Government of National Unity to resolve the Darfur crisis.

For his part, Konare stressed the AU’s readiness to continue its efforts to reach a peace agreement in Darfur.
