Ethiopia rejects internationalization of Darfur crisis

Jan 20, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — Ethiopia strongly rejects internationalization of Darfur crisis, said Ethiopian Foreign Minister Seyoum Mesfin on Friday.

Mesfin said Ethiopia is keen on helping Sudan to overcome the crisis by peaceful means, noting that the issue is a local one.

Pointing to African Union’s efforts to resolve the crisis, the minister said the union is seeking to better human rights and establish peace and stability in the African countries.
