Sudan and China sign agreements
May 21, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan and China signed a number of agreements including the railways field and a memo of understanding in which the Chinese government pledged to finance a number of projects in Sudan.
Assistant of the President Nafei Ali Nafei, who returned Saturday from Beijing concluding an eight-day visit to China heading a high-level government delegation, described the visit as successful and a great boost to the joint cooperation in all fields.
Nafei said in a press statement following his return that the delegation had meetings during the visit with a number of Chinese ministers, leaderships of the Chinese Communist Party and the officials of the Chinese companies operating in Sudan, pointing out that the meetings affirmed the importance of boosting further the joint cooperation in the economic and commercial fields and coordinating the political stances in the various regional and international forums.
Nafei said their meetings with the leaderships of the Chinese Communist Party included wide dialogue on the joint relations and means of boosting them in all spheres.
