Al-Bashir appoints legislative council members for various states

KHARTOUM, Dec 25, 2003 — The president of the republic, [Lt-Gen] Umar al-Bashir, has issued seven presidential decrees to appoint members of legislative councils.

The appointed legislative members are those of Bahr al-Ghazal west, Equitoria west, Bahr al-Jabal, Bahr al-Ghazal north, Equitoria east, the lakes and Warab States.

Representatives of geographical districts for women, graduates, vocational groups in [various] constituencies in the council have also been specified in the presidential decrees.
