Sudan First Vice-President arrives suddenly in Khartoum

September 11, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — The First Vice-President, and President of the Government of southern, Salva Kiir Mayadrit, arrived in Khartoum Tuesday evening from Juba, following rumours on his killing in a plane accident.

FVP_Salva_Kiir.jpgThe abrupt return to Khartoum aims to reassure Sudanese people about his well being and dissipating rumours about his death propagated on Sunday, the official SUNA reported.

In statement made at Khartoum airport, the First Vice President pointed out that those behind the rumours did not want to see stability and they wanted to create unrest in the country.

The First Vice President stressed his commitment to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, that the overall goal is to see a lasting peace in the country, and that the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement would contribute to finding a resolution to the question of Darfur.

It is not clear if his return is linked to the Sudanese police raids on SPLM premises, however tension was high in Khartoum on Tuesday evening.

Salva Kiir is expected to tour all northern states after Ramadan fasting month, to visit the SPLM’s support bases in the northern part of the country.

The First Vice-President was received at Khartoum airport by the Vice-President Ali Osman Taha, the state minister at t he presidency, Idris Mohamed Abdelgadir, and the state Minister at the Presidency Tilara Ring Deng, and a number of senior officials.

Keep it up your H.E, Lt general Kiir Mayardit. Your arrival in Khartoum is a prove that the SPLA/M is a vehicle without reverse gear according to your own words in Juba during late Garang funeral in 2005.
Thanks to your supportive team headed by the GoSS VP, general Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon and the whole cabinet …

The Khartoum has been fabricating many stories in order to capture people’s attentions and causing chaos among people, while our government-GoSS has no plan ‘A’ either ‘B’ but rather waiting for 2011 referendom which will be too late since the Jallaba has made many attempts to abrogate it. I am therefore urging our Government to equip and act before it’s too late.

It was asign of your declaration of war which is being plan by khartoum government now.
please never start it but them to start it.
Note: Please khartoum is still as Khartoum of 1983 and even worse now.
Your picture in millitary uniform reminded me of 28/5/1992 when we spent the night in Korkalin you know what happened on that day. Please let your people leave that evil city to remain there with soldiers only.
