Nigerian crowd attack Sudan soccer team over AU troops death
October 8, 2007 (LAGOS) — A crowd of hostile Nigerian soccer fans attacked a bus carrying members of Sudanese soccer club over the weekend for what appeared to be a response to an attack on African Union (AU) forces in Darfur.
Last Sunday visiting Al-Merreikh of Sudan lost to Dolphins FC of Nigeria 3-0 in their final group B match in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Seven Nigerian soldiers were among 10 AU soldiers killed last Saturday in the troubled region of western Sudan.
Nigerian crowd threw stones at the bus driving on its way to the stadium and blocked its passage. The soccer fans were holding pictures of the Nigerian soldiers killed.
None of the Al-Merreikh players or members were hurt following the incident.

Fellow Sudanese players sorry for the incident, dear Nigerians you shouldn’t attempt to attack the sudanese soccer team who were just gone to play the match, they are innocent.
The people who are the problems are here in Darfur, I meaning the both Rebels and Sudanese Army not players.
Thanks,
