Egypt says concerned by row between Sudan’s peace partners
October 14, 2007 (CAIRO) – Egyptian government expressed concern about the suspension of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement of its participation in the national government to protest over the failure of the National Congress Party to implement the peace deal.
In a statement released Sunday, the Foreign Ministry spokesman called on all the Sudanese parties to exercise self-restraint and resort to dialogue as the best way to settle differences.
The statement called on the national government partners not to waste the great accomplishments, referring to outstanding items in the agreement that can never be realised except through full partnership between the movement and the National Congress Party.
