Sudan’s Salva Kiir visits Rumbek

25 Oct 2007, (RUMBEK) – The First Vice president of the Republic of Sudan, President of the government of Southern Sudan, chairman of the Sudan people liberation movement (SPLM), and a commander in chief for the Sudan people liberation army (SPLA) H.E. 1stlt. Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit makes a quike visit to Rumbek, capital of Lakes State on Wednesday.

In his Seven (7) hours visit to Rumbek Salva Kiir held ameeting with high ranking officials from the SPLA head quarters, accompanied by SPLA chief of staffs Lt. Gen Oyai Deng Ajak, Minister for SPLA Affair Dominic Diem Deng, deputy chief of staff Paulino Matip Nhail, including SPLA directors of braches together in sideline with Lakes State governor Lt. Gen Daniel Awet Akot on their headway to school of Infantry Malou.

Kiir was received at Rumbek airstrip by Lakes State governor Lt. Gen Daniel Awet Akot together with his cabinet including the members of Lakes State parliament plus SPLA high rank official of Malou barrack.

FVP, president of GOSS, Salva Kiir held a meeting with United Nation mission in Sudan (UNMIS) members together also with Kenyan foreign minister who flow out from Kenya to met him in Rumbek instead of Khartoum “Kiir said”

After meeting in Rumbek Salva Kiir travel by road to Malou barrack, the SPLA barrack whereas his brief the military about the situation of CPA implementation. Salva Kiir added that many people are hearing from the media the crisis between us and our peace partners the NCP, but many of you here might ask where is the SPLM taking people too, his said that “we are not going back to war again” his pointed out that we are concerned for the implementations of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

Speaking during the Malou Commandant Infantry School, Kiir graduated about 394 in the rank of colonels on 24, 10, 2007 on Wednesday in Malou barrack. According to Kiir briefing to the graduated Col rank, saying that the Sudan people liberation army (SPLA) will not going back to war again according to the interest of the enemies of peace in Sudan “Salva Kiir say”

Salva Kiir warned graduated rank of colonel to avoid corruptions especially salaries of the SPLA soldiers, he said that you will be relocated to your respective areas and please make sure that you deliver good respect to junior rank and cooperate with local authority and you must to adopt the system.

Kiir expressed that his was midwife of the current movement (SPLA/M) or otherwise the movement was born in his hand of which nobody can deceive him for claiming high rank without fulfilling the rank given to him “I had a lot of file in my office with claimed to promoted and complaint to be given a rank while you are not identify by your high command leaders “that is not true to claim for a rank which is not belong to you at this hours”
