A Public Memorandum
June 11th, 2022.

We at the USRFA centre (a coordination body of more than 31 Sudanese organizations outside Sudan) have been closely monitoring the recent developments with regard to the negotiations led by UNITAMS, IGAD and others with the Leaders of the October 25th Military Coup in Sudan. It is unmistakably clear to us and to the majority of the people of Sudan that this negotiation, the way it is structured and pursued, is destined, unfortunately, to find a safe way out for those who committed unspeakable atrocities in Sudan (including among others killing more than 98 people, injuring and maiming hundreds, and hundreds other imprisoned across Sudan) since the start of this military coup.

The purpose of this communication is to inform our people inside Sudan, and all those who abide by human rights around the globe, and in particular, to inform the families of those who sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of democracy and civilian governance in Sudan, that we at USRFA stand in solidarity with them and with the millions of peaceful protesters across Sudan who are, tirelessly putting their lives and well-being in grave dangers. They have been confronting the brutality of this coup since its devilish inauguration on October 2021, whole heartily rejecting this or any negotiations that might lead to a safe way out for crimes that are deemed crimes against humanity such as those being inflicted by the criminal’s Militia associated with the October Coup. NO TO SUCH NEGOTIATIONS!

It is our firm belief that these negotiations will only maintain and strengthen the setback by the coup regime.

It is our firm belief that the real solution to the current political stalemate in Sudan, as well as the future of Sudan’s Development in general, will start with a clear and definite end to the current military coup and the establishment of a transitional civilian government accepted by the Sudanese People.

Any negotiations that do not lead to ending the current military coup are doomed to fail.

It is also our unambiguous belief that it is a moral obligation that the lost lives of the thousands of the Sudanese youth (many gunned down in cold blood in daylight, in the streets across Sudan!) should NOT be lost and forgotten in vain. The criminals who murdered these innocent youth MUST be held accountable.

We stand firmly with our people inside Sudan in their struggle to establish a civilian democratic country and in their rejection of the current military coup or any future military rule in Sudan.

The ultimate authority belongs to the Sudanese people and that the military should return to their barracks, stay out of politics and remain neutral!
