Uganda rejects responsibilty of South Sudan atrocities
July 6, 2008 (KAMPALA) — Ugandan officials on Sunday rejected the findings of a report by international observers on the implication of the army in attacks against civilians in southern Sudan.
The southern Sudan Vice-president Riek Machar on June 30 disclosed to southern Sudan parliament the conclusions of a verification exercise carried out by the Cessation of Hostilities Monitoring Team (CHMT) stating the Ugandan soldiers killed a Sudanese in Western Equatoria after abducting him and looting food stuff and other household goods on June 14.
Foreign Minister Sam Kutesa dismissed the report saying “It cannot be our army … Our army is disciplined.”
He further said that the South is an agitated place and other armed men could be responsible from this attack.
“Southern Sudan remains a restive area with so many small armed groups operating there. It is difficult to distinguish who are the Ugandan rebels and who are not.” Kutesa said.
Ugandan army Commander Aronda Nyakairima also rejected the allegations that have soured relations between Uganda and South Sudan authorities.
“We have been hearing these allegations through the press, but they are all false. What I know, what we suspect is that there could be a problem of identity between our forces and other armed groups operating there,” he added.
WHY THEY WANT US TO LEAVE
The Ugandan security minister told The New Vision he is still seeking to understand why southern Sudan official ask for the withdrawal of their troops. He said Juba had to discuss the issue before taking such decision.
“I don’t know what prompted the South Sudan leadership to take such a decision,” said Amamba Mbabazi. “Even if there was anything, we can discuss it and sort it out amicably.” He added.
Mbabazi noted that they had not yet received an official communication to withdraw.
“It is a political decision, something which President Salva Kiir should take up with President Museveni,” he said.
South Sudan’s Vice-President Riek Machar, told the lawmakers last week, Kiir had already instructed the SPLA Chief of Staff, Lt. General Oyai Deng, to communicate the order to his Ugandan counterpart.
He said the decision was reached on June 7 in the South Sudan Security Committee meeting, chaired by Kiir.

UPDF and LRA why are you so interested with our territory? why don’t you just pack and go to your country,Mr Amamba Mbabazi please get to understand that your troops were not well discipline please take them back and give them same lessions,enough is enough if your asked by a landlard to leave it is simple just pack your properties and leave slowly,so what is the matter of complaining about Kiir or Riek to make further decision.

It is difficult to distinguish who are Ugandan rebels and who not “. this is not lawless Somalia, this is a country with it’s pride and Legitimate government, with man and woman who can defend its territories with their last drop of blood. Things have gone bad for guys and this is the time you should be quiet or resort for better advice from your government instead making thing worst. the decision was taken unanimously by the government of southern Sudan and was brought to parliament by vice president Dr. Riek Machar.
Now, for the sake of mutual understanding and friendship. we/us (southren) ask you brothers in Uganda to leave us alone, southern Sudan has taken initiative to filter all fugitives from it’s land and those who collaborate with NCP.

You sound like a guilty person! How come in your desperate attempt to conceal your army crime you resort to attacking how Southern Sudanese live in their own God-given territory. I thought you would stick to blaming the LRA instead of vomiting on South Sudanese themselves calling them agitative, with so many armed groups.
You have no convincing case to present, just pack the bags of your indisciplined soldiers and let them leave South Sudan.

This is what i said before, this NRM government of Uganda is not a friendly government, the Ugdandan people are friendly people and our brothers but the government of Uganda is a dishonest and not a friendly government but they have been pretending for long so they can be able to deal with Kony but they have to understand southsudan is never going to help then get Kony anymore, they have become our enemynow not just LRA enemy, so let them go fight themselves inside Uganda,GOSS should understand ealier that Uganda NRM is not a friendly government they are selfish people and just love their interest only. Mr Amambazi & commander Aronda, can you tell us what you mean by southsudan has many armed groups?can you mention thier names and whot hey arebecause this armed groups you are talking about are actually you the UPDF and the LRA, also are you trying to say Uganda is all secured and safe? look at north Uganda what have museveni & NRM achieved there? what have NRM achieved in East Uganda, What did museveni & NRM do in Luweroo killing civilians while hiding as govemnent soldiers? What is oing on in Buganda, why is Museveni the Ankole minority man and tribalists museveni dominating the uganda and other majority, do you think museveni would survive without using force to stay in power? how long has museveni ruled Uganda for, 20? is that democracy or his fathers kingdom if you people are not power hungry and sick. ok how about the rebels in the south and west of Uganda the ADF and PRA who are fighting for democracy i Uganda, why have you failed to defeat the LRA? UPDF just run their mouth but you do not have the power to wipe any group on your own, just leave southsudan peacefully if you don’t want more troubles, you give us troubles we will fire back at you hard.Museveni is now old and have not achieved anything apart from helping Uganda reduce HIV, NRM legecyis getting old now, museveni shold focus on uniting Ugandans, solving the wars and bring peace to all parts of Uganda including north, east, west and south, make peace will all ugandan armed groups and build good relationship with Ugandan neighbours, actually Uganda is the only country in East Africa that has problems with all its neighbours, point one country in east & central African that Ugada does not have a problem with. so peace stop talking, Ugandan you have heard the news loud and clear, so avoid the embarassment of b eing chased and just take your troops and go back toyour territory, don’t you ugandans understand protocol? south sudan president has directed army chief to contact ugandan army chief, that is friendly protocol, if you don’t understand then i am afraid an embarrasing letter could reach museveni from he leadership in Sudan forcing him to take his troops out or be pushed out by other means.
