Sudan and Chad to play in Egypt
Fifa has decided that Sudan and Chad will meet for their 2010 World Cup qualifying matches in neighbouring Egypt.
World football’s governing body said on Tuesday that the games will take place at the Cairo Military Stadium on 6 and 10 September.
The match that should have been played on 31 May in Omdurman was postponed after diplomatic ties were broken off between Sudan and Chad.
The Confederation of African Football threw Chad out of qualifying for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations because they failed to arrive to play the game.
Chad are however still involved in qualifying for the World Cup in South Africa.
Fifa had called the 2010 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifying game off because of political tensions between the two countries.
The border between Sudan and Chad runs along the troubled Sudanese region of Darfur.
It was reported last weekend that leaders of Sudan and Chad plan to meet at a peace summit.
