Malakal death toll rises to 9 people

January 10, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — Nine people were killed and dozens wounded in tribal armed clashes between Dinka and the Shilluk in the capital of Upper Nile State Malakal, yesterday.

The tribal fighting has displaced about 300 families after their homes were burned.

Further clashes spread to include a number of villages in the area. A variety of weapons were used in the fighting from the RPG, an antitank grenade launcher, rifles, to spears and arrows.

The conflict began when some of the dancers from the Dinka attempted to enter the stadium, where were held the celebration of the fourth anniversary of 2005 peace agreement, and make presentations before the members of the Shilluk tribe, which is a stronghold of the city.

The Shilluk rejected the move and considered it as a denial by the Dinka to their ownership of the town. They said they must be the first to perform traditional dances before the Dinka.

The local authorities were blamed for not taking the necessary security measures to face the existing rivalry between the two tribes. The police which killed two people was also criticized for the excessive use of arms against the population.

That is an idiot war and I condemned it in the strongest term. What do people get for owning a town? I think a town is for all people including foreigners from other countries. Those human lives have been lost for nothing and those reponsible for the culprits should be brought to justice.

Every one has known what Dinka is now. They claim everywhere to be theirs, Abyei, America, Australia, UK and the all South Sudan including Madi Land in Nimuli. Also, they have taken Anywak homeland of Adong, Abwong and Galachel. Now they are killing citizens in Malakal trying to take over. In order to execute their plans, they brought Dinka SPLA to Upper Nile. Those who killed 9 persons in Anagdair were Dinka SPLA. Every one knows now that Dinka have failed to govern the south in Juba. Instead, they are looting the government to buy houses in America and Australia. This Dinka mentality has to be stop otherwise we have to go to war before the referendum in 2011. Let me tell this Dinkas that the killing in Malakal will never go down lightly. We will have to go for it sooner or later. We have to know to whom Malakal belongs. If it is becuase of being thew capital of Upper Nile State, let them transfere it to any other place away from Malakal. We want to live in peace.

    To Concellor and Moses.

    Supporters of Dinkaweed Movement.

First of all, i would like to convey my condolences to the friends, families who lost their love ones in this tragic events. 9 lives have been lost this is a great lost to the Southern Sudan. These clashes would have been not even taken place if each tribe was giving respect to the other.

And any person nutral can easily say: Why Dinka tribe wanted to go first and make the presentation; even though they new that Makal or Malakal is the city originally for the indiginous Shilluk tribe?. And they are aware such move will lead to fighting, clashes, or it will reflect aprovacative, aggrevation and undermining to the Shilluk people. This is the mentality of Dinkas!!!. The truth is bitter to swallow!!!.

CPA is now in danger in Southern Sudan because Dinkas are now using SPLA as a power to fulfill the Dinka interest, and they don’t care wether to coexists peacefully, or reconciliation between tribes. Shilluk are the owners of Malakal this is the history in the books even upto Britain British records can prove that.

Now thesame thing is going on in Nimule, Bor Dinka community don’t want to advice their fellow IDP’s to return to their respective villages since peace has already sign: All the houses of Madi people was confiscated takenover by Dinkas SPLA. Instead they should go and develop Bor Town just for the sake of peace CPA.
    This is a dangerous situations.

Dinkers refusal to implement peace, quite, reconciliations and coexistance resolutions can tell us Southerners that Dinkas are preparing for war in the South; they turn the enemy now is Southerners Not Jalabas. Because even foreigners were aking why Southerners are difficult to unite themselves against Jalabas in the North?, after their research the found Dinkas wanted to takeover land of other tribes in the South. Instead of focusing for the enemey in the North, and building strong true peaceful unity specifically about the issues of land belongs to the community originaly living in that land. Because the quote ” I can live anywhere in the South Sudan because i liberate this land”, my riend, yes you can live anywhere. But this anywhere belongs to the indiginous people of that particular land. Yes you as individually can live anywhere. But what Southerners Surpized of is the comunity of IDP’s with all their cows, SPLA Bor Dinka commuity you must return back to develop your land, because by living in another people’s land you are creating conflicts.

Shilluk commuity has the right to complain. While i was in school, i have many friends from Shilluk people. they are very good friends, humans, they don’t cause fighting for the sake of fight. And plus they are good musicians guitarists; look, you can just imagin how artistic humble, polite thay are, but i don’t want to talk much about that, as is not important. Even i have friends from Dinka people they are very good too. But the things that spoilling Dinkas now is their behavior since 1983, when Garang tolled them “Sala akuk odiyu Talaga”, and Sala Umak Odiyu Talaga”. Now this mentality expose Dinka in contraditory with the current civilizations that Kiir and Bashir where preaching, the “Coexistance and Reconcilitions”.

This Janjaweed mind must not be taken to South.

Malakal death toll rises to 9 people
    Official information from SPLA,

JUBA, Sudan, Jan 11 (Reuters) – At least nine people were killed in tribal clashes sparked by arguments between dancers at a peace rally, south Sudan’s army said on Sunday.

Spokesman Peter Parnyang said nine members of the Shilluk tribe were killed in an attack by pastoralists from the Dinka tribe in south Sudan’s Upper Nile State on Saturday.

“It is not finished,” he said. “If they (the Shilluk) retaliate it could be very big.”

Parnyang said traditional dancers from the tribes quarrelled on Friday during celebrations to mark the fourth anniversary of Sudan’s 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement — a deal that ended two decades of north-south civil war.

The dancers were supposed to take part in a parade around the stadium in the state’s capital Malakal before speeches by Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir and Vice President Salva Kiir, also president of semi-autonomous south Sudan.

“There was an issue of who would go first, who second, Dinka or Shilluk,” Parnyang said. “(In the quarrel) three were critically injured by spears.”

International observers said policemen shot into the air to try to end the fighting. The clashes took place outside the stadium and no guests or speakers were wounded, they added.

Parnyang said Dinka fighters attacked the Shilluk north of Malakal on Saturday and that there were reports that two people, one a Shilluk, were killed in separate clashes close to Malakal.

Our people (both Dinka Shilluk) in this fight are a bunch of a problem. They don’t envision any progress. What is there in the fight about this tribe and that tribe. Why don’t the two who started it finish it and not involve the two sides?

Dinka imperialism is the same as Jallaba. They corrupt and looting the government in the south and they tell us to wait for referrum. They are preaching unity with north and they point their figures to others. Time has now come for non-Dinkas to unite against Dinka. We should fight Dinkas first and face our enamies later. Dinkas have become very dangerous and are expanding to other people lands in the name they alone fought the liberation war. Let me tell the Dinkas the following “there will be no elections or referandum” when you are still occupying lands of others. We will have to work it out and anyway you want. This time the fight will be in the battle field and not in your houses you bought with looted money in USA and Australia.

I would like to reply to Augustino Mayath. Dinka tactics should be exposed now before it becomes too late. Dinka have taken Wau in Bahr El-Ghazal from Jur. In Upper Nile currently Dinka have taken over. Just to give you some statistics. The governor Galwuak is originally a Dinka from Bor. His father migrated from Bor to Nasir and died there. His mother was later married to Nuer where his other siblings are Nuer. Deputy Governor Dog-Dog is Dinka from Renk. The commissioner of Malakal County Saeed Awad is a dinka from Aweil. Top police officers are from Dinka Bor. Top judiciary judges are all Dinka. Therefore Dinka have taken over Upper Nile State. Dinka are now taking on Equatoria. Land grabbing in Nimule is not co-incident. More than 80% of GoSS are Dinka. Strong Equatorians like Cdr. Mabuto Mamur are in jail. The only top Shilluk civil servant official in the government Cdr Alfred Akwoc was dismissed by Awut. All the SPLM offices abroad are staff by only Dinkas. This is where Mr. Augustino is proud that Dinka are known all over the world but as beggars. Dinkas pushed other non-Dinkas SPLA to fight their war in Abyei which is up to now is not Dinka land. If Augustino think they are the Israelis of Sudan then soon will know your home land or be shown to you if you have forgotten. Dinka Ngok in Upper Nile came from Pariang in Unity State. The took over the land of Anywak in Abwong, Adong,Doma etc. Equatorians have to rise up to liberate their land. Their children are being killed on daily bases in Juba. Their women are being rapped. Dinka problem is not only in Upper Nile or Bahr El-Ghazal. It will soon become a problem of Equatoria.
