RSF accused of executing displaced civilians in Darfur shelter

October 7, 2025 (EL FASHER) – Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) executed several displaced people, including an elderly woman and a disabled person, inside a shelter in El Fasher, North Darfur’s capital, on Monday, a spokesperson for the displaced community said.

The alleged killings occurred during a broader RSF offensive on the city, which began with artillery shelling that killed at least 13 civilians, the Sudan Doctors Network reported.

Mohammed Khamis Douda, a spokesperson for the Zamzam camp, told Sudan Tribune that militia fighters infiltrated the Abu Talib school shelter in the Abu Shouk neighbourhood and shot residents inside their temporary homes.

“They killed three of them, including a woman of about eighty years old and a person with a physical disability,” Douda said.

He added that the attack came after a week of intense shelling on the centre, which was hit by more than ten projectiles and a nighttime drone strike, killing over 15 people and injuring dozens.

The attacking forces compelled all 100 families residing in the centre, among them 37 unaccompanied and orphaned children, to forcibly evacuate, Douda stated. The residents fled to unknown destinations without food or shelter.

Videos circulated on pro-RSF media platforms appeared to show fighters storming the centre, chasing women and children, and firing at wounded people inside rooms.

The RSF has been persistently shelling civilian targets in El Fasher, destroying markets, water sources, and health facilities. The force is also accused of conducting sporadic raids on gatherings of the displaced, committing widespread violations, including killings and arrests.
