Last Monday, six separatist political parties walked out from the ‘All Political Parties Conference’ hosted by the SPLM in Juba, accusing the organizers of sabotaging the right of self-determination for the people of Southern Sudan.

The walked out Southern Sudan political parties included the United Democratic Front (UDF), The South Sudan Democratic Forum (SSDF) and the Union of Sudan African Parties 2 (USAP-2).

Their decision was seen in line with a hostile campaign by the National Congress Party (NCP) against the meeting. Reacting to their move, Sudan’s First president and SPLM Chairman Salva Kiir Mayadrit slammed these parties saying at the time were the SPLA was fighting for the rights of southerners the same parties were the allies of Khartoum ruling party.

In a statement released yesterday, the leaders of Union of Sudan African Parties (USAP2) the Chairman Elioba James Surur, “took unilateral decision based on the fear that people where running to renegotiate the CPA.”

The USAP2 leader reaffirmed their commitment to the resolutions of the conference urging its implementations.

“We support this resolution and push with the other political parties to its implementation to the spirit and letter” they said.

The statement is signed by Elioba James Surur, chairman of P People’s Prgressive Party (PPP), Henry Ting Chol, chairman of Sudan African National Union (SANU) and Angelo Gwang Diirrg, chairman of Sudan African Congress (SAC).

The four-day meeting hosted by the Sudan people’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) issued “Juba declaration for dialogue and national consensus,” comprising joint resolutions on six issues: dialogue and national consensus, national reconciliation, peace agreements, democratic transition, economic and social situations, foreign policy.

The Conference set up five committees to follow up the implementation of the resolutions.

Is there a shame that people in Southern Sudan can feel? These parties were expressing the interest of the South Sudan people when they walked out of the conferent cliaming CPA vital outcome(self-determination) was being sabotaged. In less than a week they have to turn their tail a round. Why? is it because of the attractive document put together by SPLM, UMMA, PCP and other parties that remained in the conferent?

I think the parties should have a talk with SPLM leader and ask him about the intention of statment in which he called those parties who walked out conferent unpartiriotic and were making ally with Khartoum regime when SPLA was fighting. Yes some were in Khartoum but were they not fighting for the interest of the South? I think taking arm is one way of fight for the right of the people but surely not the only one. why they are with SPLM now and have to leave SPLM renegotiating the CPA, if it was true. So, Surur and his party has proved themselves didn’t understand what was going on in the conferent or were misleading Southern Sudanese when they walk out of the conference.

As for Kirr, his statement was not SPLM spirit of unite we are trying to champion. We should not make that statment against six South Sudanese parties because SPLA is not SPLM only and they walk out for the fear of renogetiation of the CPA. I SHOULD RATHER SAY THE PARTIES DIDN’T FULLY UNDERSTAND OUR INTENTION and that we need to make it more clearer for them to understand.

    Who is Eliobo James?
These politcal parties claiming that they are Southern parties are not. In fact, where were they during South -North war. They when to confuse SPLM while they are under the influence of Khartoum regime.
If they have interest in South determination, then why did they hide and now came and went to make confusion so that CPA will be like for Joseph Lago. That will not happened this time brothers.
