Over 15 million voters registered for Sudan’s election
December 13, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — Hadi Mohamed Ahmed, chairman of the Department of the Electoral Register at the National Election Commission (NEC) today announced that 15,778,154 voters have registered to participate in the upcoming elections.
The Sudanese official, who announced the figure during the inauguration of the NEC press center on Sunday, said at least ten thousand workers took part in the voter registration in 749 centers.
Hadi further disclosed that the number of people registered at the registration centers outside the Sudan reached 112,642 voters included in the above mentioned figure.
Accordingly the total number of registered voters is 81% distributed as the following:
