U.S. to send four planes carrying relief for W. Sudan
KHARTOUM, May 2, 2004 (SUNA) — The American Chargé d’Affaires in Khartoum has announced that four US planes loaded with humanitarian aid materials will arrive in Sudan Monday for the affected people in Darfur.
In a press briefing he held at the US Embassy in Khartoum Sunday, the American Chargé d’Affaires affirmed that the US Government would support the humanitarian aid efforts for the people of Darfur.
He called on the Sudanese government and the international community to work together for solving the crisis in Darfur.
The American Chargé d’Affaires lauded cooperation between Sudan and his country in combating international terrorism.
He pointed out that US commends the political, economic and social developments that occurred in the country.
He said his country would work to encourage the two parties to the negotiations to reach peace that will realize stability and development for the country.
