Qatar sends humanitarian assistance to Darfur

July 11, 2010 (KHARTOUM) — Qatar said Sunday it has sent humanitarian assistance to the war affected region of Darfur in western Sudan.

According to the Qatar News Agency the 50 million Qatari riyals (, $13.7 million) batch of assistance, is part of the efforts of the oil rich state for Darfur’s stability and reconstruction.

Since September 2008, Qatar is the host country of the current AU-UN peace process to end the seven year conflict between the Sudanese government and rebel groups in Darfur region.

In Khartoum, Sudan’s minister for humanitarian affairs Joseph Lual will travel on Monday to the capital of South Darfur, Nyala, to attend the delivery of the Qatari humanitarian aid.

The emergency relief aid comes in addition to the Qatari contribution in the capital of the Development Bank of Darfur, Doha said.

The second civil society forum is expected to start today in Doha, as part of the ongoing talks between one rebel groups and the government.

Two framework agreements were signed this year in Doha between the Sudanese government and Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) as well as the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM)).

    Arab use money to colod down everything and later they will probable leave you with Omar al Bashir government just like whay they did to Southern Sudanese in 1972. Same Arab agendas which have cause thousand lives lost in Darfuri regions and same Arab who caused 3 million lives losts during the long civil war between North-South and now they are trying to change their colored who doesn’t know they are all same Arab Idiots.?

    Your money is going to your brothers in North Sudan. If any of Arab countries send aids to Sudan its always divereted to North Sudan. Historically they have never allowed any kind of aids of their brothers to go to anywhere else except Arab areas in Sudan.
