Jonglei: One person killed in Anyidi shooting

By John Actually

February 24, 2011 (BOR) – One person is reported dead in what seem to be renewed attacks in Anyidi payam (disctrict) of Bor county on Thursday at 3.00pm local time, Sudan Tribune has learnt.

Cattle driven by Dinka traders on Bor road coming from Murle on Wednesday, Feb 23, 2011
The youth leader of Anyidi, Thon Kur Anyieth, who visited the scene of the incident, said seven gunmen lay an ambush for herders guarding their cattle near the centre of Anyidi and shot one person dead before fleeing. Kur blamed members of the Murle ethnic group for the attack.

Anyidi is the normally peaceful trading centre linking merchants from Bor to those in Pibor county who exchange their goods for cattle and vice-versa. Bor local auction receives hundreds of cattle from the Murle for sale, daily.
In November 2010 four Murle tribesmen lost one man in an attempted cattle raid in Thianwei village of Anyidi.

Kur also argues Bor county authorities and the state government should deploy police in what he called the “fragile villages” of Anyidi to protect the civil lives there.

Many villages in Bor county are deserted as people move to the capital of Bor. It is believed in some cases it is in fear of Murle attack.

The county authorities have been trying their best to make sure that the civil populations in the villages are secured, in an attempt to make life attractive there, but with little success.

A significant cause of conflict in the triangular zone of Nuer, Dinka Bor and Murle is cattle rustling and child abduction – both are unconstitutional practices condemned by the Government of South Sudan and Jonglei state government.

    Please mr Kuol manyang.
We DINKAS are getting sick of our Bor Dinkas to be killed every day.
This ill tactic of Mr Riek machar will never end untill you confront this wicked man AKA Riek. he is the one who plan this attack a against Bor since he blame Kuol Manyang of not picking him to be the leader of the SPLA/M
The same weak claim that Riak Machar and his traitors. They rebelled against the SPLA/M to free themselves from Dr. Garang whom they accused of dictatorship and human rights abuses. However, they started their movement by killing civilians and later on joined the most ruthless dictator and human rights abuser called Omar Beshir. They formed a Movement called South Sudan Independent Movement (SSIM) but went to attack the towns which were already captured by the SPLA. They also surrendered some towns liberated by the SPLA to Sudan government.

Nuer writers always think they are clever when they write articles which tries to cover their past betrayal but it will not change anything in the minds of South Sudanese. These people are delusional in their thought. They think putting all the blame on Dr. Garang will let South Sudanese forget their past betrayal.

I was laughing the other day when they organized a big event in Juba just to mock themselves by calling a bunch of their traitors as heroes who helped to bring the current self-determination and Independence of South Sudan. What sense does it make to call the betrayers of South Sudan as heroes who bring Independence?

My advice to you is to count the number of years which were spent by your fake heroes fighting Arab in South Sudan. Also count the number of years they spent fighting South Sudanese as government militias. You will find that majority of Nuer fought against Arab in 2 years i.e in 1989 and 1990. What kind of people can exalt themselves as heroes for fighting in two years while the rest of the South Sudanese fought for 21 years of deadly civil war? Mangoor, South Sudan
Death to Nassir gang leader riek machar teny dog.

    HERE is the ARTICLE
South Sudan police academy mired in abuse scandal: Minister Gier should be fired now!

BY: MAGGIE FICK, Associated Press, Juba,

FEB. 24/2011, SSN; JUBA, Sudan – U.N. investigators say police recruits were beaten to death, sexually assaulted and forced to stand for hours in the blazing sun as part of a training program funded by international donors, demonstrating the challenges ahead for what will soon be the world’s newest nation.

Some of the 6,000 recruits who took part in a yearlong program to train new officers to promote stability in the war-torn region say they were raped and were beaten with sticks. U.N. investigators found that at least two trainees died from injuries.

The academy had received more than $1 million from the U.N. Development Program with promises of more aid. Now, international donors have suspended their support to the Rajaf police academy pending further investigation. Plans for the next class of recruits are on hold.

“Our rights as recruits were not respected,” one man in his mid-20s told The Associated Press. He detailed how he and his fellow recruits were beaten with sticks, kicked, “made to roll on the ground” and forced to crawl on their hands and knees as punishment.

The recruit decided to sign up for the police training after living as a refugee in neighboring Uganda and finding others jobs hard to come by in the desperately poor Southern Sudanese capital city of Juba. Instead of opportunity, he says he found despair.

“It made me lose my hope completely. I had no idea I would enter such a life, otherwise I would not have joined,” he said, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of retribution.

Southern Sudan voted overwhelmingly last month to secede from the north. The independence referendum was part of a 2005 peace deal that ended a two-decade war that had left 2 million people dead.

Southern Sudan is still awash in weapons, many of them in the hands of civilians and poorly trained, ill-disciplined security forces. Police are badly needed to improve security and promote stability as the region moves toward becoming the Republic of South Sudan in July.

The academy was designed to create a “new guard” of police officers who had not experienced the brutal combat endured by tens of thousands of Southern Sudanese guerrilla fighters during the civil war. Instead, recruits at the facility described being deeply traumatized by some of these former guerrilla fighters, who are now serving as “commandos” in the southern army.

The human rights unit of the U.N. peacekeeping mission in Sudan investigated in December and January and said “many recruits died during the course of the year.” About 700 recruits did not finish the program. Human rights groups have been unable to independently confirm how many deaths occurred.

“Evidence is sufficient enough to conclude that a pattern of human rights violations ranging from extrajudicial killings, rape, and attempted rape, to inhumane, cruel and degrading treatment,” said a letter sent by the U.N. human rights unit to the inspector general of the Southern Sudan Police Service in January.

At least 400 women were in the academy when the class started in January 2010, although it is unclear how many females graduated the following December.

“Female recruits were compelled without their consent on diverse occasions to have sexual intercourse with some of the trainers at the training center,” it said. The letter argued that “high-ranking officers knew or ought to have known” of such violations.

The southern government’s Minister of Internal Affairs Gier Chuang Aluong refused repeated interview requests, referring the AP to a list of steps taken to address the allegations. Those included his ministry’s proposal that southern president Salva Kiir appoint a commission to investigate the alleged abuses. No commission has yet been set up to do so.

Joe Feeney, the head of office for UNDP in Southern Sudan, said international officials are “deeply concerned by the allegations put forward.”

At a cafe in Juba, the young disillusioned recruit now faces deployment to a new post. He signed up for the police training in hopes it would provide a decent salary in a place where few are found.
He’s still waiting to start earning $3 a day, but says dejectedly: “I’m not really interested anymore.”

Dear Haters of Dinka Bor and Dinka as a whole,

Shame on you! Fuck your asses and give Dinka many thanks for the secession of South Sudan. Don’t you know that you are enjoying the struggles and sweats of Dinka who fought tireless for your freedom? One day you need to admit something and give thanks to the people who set you free. The death of one person in Anyidi is a great loss to Dinka Bor community and to Jonglei State as well.

My condolences to the family of the deceased.

I RESPECT DINKA BOR FOR THEIR LOVE OF OTHER HUMAN BEINGS.

These people facinate me with their calm nature and not always seeking revenge especially when they say (madaang)and handle things peacefully.

However, their neighbours take advantage of their beautiful qualities and murder them on a daily basis. Its about time you lift up at least a finger and defend yourselves

I do n’t think that Dr. Riek Machar is behind the killing of your people.
There is no evidence that can prove it.

I believe that the Murles cattle chiefts are the one who do the killing of your people.

    Thanks

    Mr/Mrs. H1N1,

You need a cure for you are a disease to the Mighty Dinka.

Your brain is very shallow. Now there are no Arabs you will run to, where will you go? You must accept Dinka and live with them hand in hand for the development of South Sudan. Stop your hatreds and love them for they gave you that golden plate you are enjoying food everyday.

A death of one Dinka is a great loss to the Government of South Sudan. May his soul rest in peace.

Dr. Riek Machar is still playing the same game as he did in 1991, when he killed 100, 000 of people in Bor During Naath Movement.

Go a head and do whatever you like but your days are numbered!

What is Ngundeng? (The definition of Ngundeng) is a Satan who was caught on hook by the Nuer boys in the River Nile when they were fishing. It was caught inform of Fish changed into Snake, and into Human Being
Ngundeng’s nick names are Gatluak Mangueel, Manyang e Juet, Tiger, Fish Ngundeng, Snake Ngundeng, Human Ngundeng, and Cannibal Ngundeng.

For those who are still using Ngundeng ideologies, please be inform! Ngundeng had shameful things to be said about him. First,

He was not a Prophet but a profit to his royalist in Nuer.
He had many names according to his activities in many parts of South Sudan.
He was a Cannibal animal according to Nuer man who doesn’t need to be mentioned

    His name was Tiger
The Nuer man who refused to be target by Ngundeng’s salves pointed out that. Ngundeng had no father or mother but the Devil who came out in the River Nile in a form of fish, when the Nuer boys want for fishing. They fish for so many hours and they caught nothing, when the boys get tied and ready to go back home. One of them told other guys that there was a fish ate his hook lastly, the boy convinced other friends to tried one more time! Shortly after he putted on snail body on the hook, he had thrown it into Nile River. Immediately, Ngundeng was caught. The boy was attempting to pull the Fish Ngundeng out in the river but it was difficult for him to do so, then he called his associates to pull Ngundeng on the shore. They brought it out and they were smile some of them were told to go and collect firewood in order for the young men to roast their fish.

Unfortunately! The Fish Ngundeng changed into big snake! And the boys ran away from it, the boys thought that they were dreaming and they came back for the second times. The Snake Ngundeng light it body and become bright as well as electricity light. They ran home and they spread the news to the community, when the Nuer elders came to the place where Ngundeng was pulled. It was still there as snake with it light. People gather together around it and started asking question how did this happen? The Snake Ngundeng changed into human being and told people not to run away. All of them were shocking and scary to death except Human Ngundeng who performs such witchcraft. Things “Come down, come down now!” The Human Ngundeng said. Who are you? The Nuer elders asked him. I am Nyajok_ which mean woman devil! The Human Ngundeng answer! She knew her own physical appearance as she is a hermaphrodite. (A person with both the organs of a man and a woman) Wow! Brothers and sisters of Nuer I am sorry for your Profit. Nyajok Ngundeng was not a Prophet? It was your profit to cheat people for his power but It was not a Prophet? It was a Satan?

    Mrs. Nuer-Dinka,

Your comments are always in childish manner. It’s a fortune for your husband’s mum, Riek Machar to attack women and children in 1991 while men were in front lines seriously gunning down Arabs, but shockingly when the news came to them that a cockroach Riek Machar had attacked Bor, they left Arabs and went to fight Riek until he escaped with his underwear only. After that, Dinka-Bor carried a single assault that resulted into the loss of uncountable Nuer lives. Although, it was estimated to be roughly around 250,000 lives but it was a lot.

I believe Riek cannot repeat the same thing now. If he does, he will regret.

    Guys
If we don’t learn this thing called unity we will end up at end of the day killing each others. We all loves foods thats why some of us afford to eat 3 times a day some eat very little some sometime eat once in two days because they don’t get food. For those who keep calling people food lovers they are just ran out of words. Look at our leaders today, you must be blind not to see the deferent between the way they looks six years ago when they came out from bush and today. Many of them became fats with big stomach some their nick disappear. They should train to keep in fit instead of doing that, they spend their weekend beside good food Votca and wiskey bottles, and you still coming here and call people food lover. Do you really know who is food lovers? I promise under my leadership if our problem is food I will feed you guys and the rest of the world we are going to produce foods enough for us and rest of world because we have good land and water for that.

The next president of south Sudan
