Kiir forms first cabinet of the independent South Sudan
August 26, 2011 (JUBA) – The President of the newly independent Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, has announced the first cabinet for the new nation.
Most of the old faces have made it back to the cabinet. Among the ministers that have not come back included the Pagan Amum Akech, former minister of Peace and CPA Implementation and Ann Itto, former minister of Agriculture and Forestry. The two are SPLM Secretary General and Deputy, respectively.
He also tried to represent equally all the different regions to avoid accusations of tribalism and nepotism.
The following are the members of the new government of the Republic of South Sudan as appointed by the decree number 29/2011:

This is a fairly well balanced cabinet that reflect diversity and political plurality that exist in South. However, this has been done at the expense of lean and efficient cabinet. Southerners will end devoting resources to overlapping cabinet. I think just about 20 ministries and agencies could do for South. But to accommodate various political parties and ethnic diversity, Kiir had no choice but to create a bigger pie so that everyone gets a piece. Now, let’s hope that they perform well and deliver services to South.

I would like to say that your talks are not helpful because each and every minister among these ministers represents his/her own constituency, however it would not be meaningful to full all Nuer,or Equatorians in the position of other Dinka constituencies. The writing I always get here are just out of jealousy otherwise, you can even put in your mind that Dinka are the Majority and followed by Nuer, since Dinka have more than 5 states, Aweil, Warrap, Lake, Jonglei, Western Bhar Elgahzal state and even Part of Upper Nile and so, we can not kill them because they are the majority. Please I beg to abandon jealousy and go for development instead.
Remember, Dinka, Nuer or any other tribe can rule South Sudan later but still Dinka will remain with their constituency. Because they are the one to present them.

The formation of the long awaited cabinets is inclusive as you have all seen each and every region have their representatives in the new independent country of South Sudan.
I would like to gives my special thank to Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit the President for taking time and have forms the first cabinet reflecting all the region of South Sudan.
Yes, there are some people whose their analysis are not good by saying that the formation of the cabinets is not good according to their own perspectives and the country does not employed all the thousands of men and women who evacuated their homes for Juba looking for the job of being a minister or deputy minister, these ideologies are not helping us we southerners if we do not catch up with the world and technical know how and not technical know who.
I will not advice you the commentators whose their ideas is to reflect tribalism conflict of interests but remember one more things that you will never be a good citizen of South Sudan if you donot leave all your nonsenses insulting the President and Dinka Tribe as a whole. For instance, assume that you have you fiend, colleague who is a Dinka and your insultation generalize all the Dinka wherever they are. Do you realize that you include your friend or not. Write responsibly and be self confident to promote peace and love amongst the Southerners tribes in South Sudan.

Mr. President, This is what we expect to happen. To my dear readers, i would like to say that this is not a formation of the Cabinet rather than modification of the existing cabinet. Just to have a few new faces in the cabinet is not a formation of the Cabinet. Our President does not want really development in the New Republic to take place because of Presence of Awut Deng and Gier Chuang Aluong.
Unless, our President is having a special interest on the two worst Minsiters. What will Gier Chuang deliver to the Citizens after failing to put a well organised forces into proper shape. This Government is a slight inclusive Government by nature but with enough reserve to Warrap. I was waiting to see Mr. Capped (president) reshuffling out all the corrupt ministers in the cabinet of the new nation in order not to bring us bad luck again, unfortunately it did not happen. It doesn’t matter who comes in and replacing who just, but on who is capable of doing a job not just by appeasing you by either calling you His Excellency or Beny or whatever name they may call you. RSS President did well with his government, but one thing that he didn’t do well is an equal representation in Warrap state. No Minister since 2005 ever ever come from Twic county & Gogrial East county. All the national ministers come from Kiir home town/county (Gogrial West) and Tonj.

It is all about administration and leadership. Garang did not even have a phd in politics and he did better than those who studied law and political science. It is who you are that matters at the end of the day
Gier has a masters degree in public administration. He doesn’t have to have an engineering degree to do the work. It will be all about finding and supervising the contracted companies so that they do proper work in the correct time frame without taking the money do nothing.
What if we don’t have civil engineers, are going to wait until one is born? What if they are there, but they are not capable to do the work as required?
Constructing roads in south Sudan will require lots of money. I hope all major roads that connect the 10 states will be constructed.

i believe the president is doing his job well, however he is failing somewhere somehow, i really don’t know why he had to replace GIER CHUANG after all that he has done,it really hurt to see that a man like GIER CHUANG is being exploited a lot, imagine he put in place the telecommunications services out of his effort while he was still serving as the minister of telecommunication and postal services, he was was appointed minister of interior in 2009, where he worked so hard to improve the security of the south sudan, he has recruited and trained several security officers who eventually help to improve the security of the south.he himself used to patrol the city to ensure that there is safety in the country.
