43 killed in Sudan road accident after knocking down donkey
KHARTOUM, July 9 (AFP) — Forty-three people were killed, including five members of the same family burnt alive in their car, when it collided with a bus in southern Sudan setting both vehicles on fire, police said on Friday.
Thirty-eight of those on board the bus were killed, while the 16 other passengers were badly injured. The car’s driver lost control after hitting a donkey and crashed into the oncoming bus.
The accident on occurred Thursday at Um Rawabah, 300 km south of the Sudanese capital, on the highway from Khartoum to El-Obeid, the police said.
