British foreign secretary to visit Sudan next week
KHARTOUM, Aug 16, 2004 (MENA) — British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw will visit Sudan on August 23-24, said a Sudanese Foreign Ministry statement on Monday.
During his visit, Straw will meet Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir and Foreign Minister Mustafa Osman Ismail to discuss bilateral relations and developments in the conflict-ravaged Darfur region.
The Sudanese government would post Straw on the reality of conditions in Darfur and would listen to his remarks on the issue, said the statement.
The British foreign secretary will visit the three provinces of Darfur during his visit to Sudan.
