Ex-Guinea PM appointed JMEC deputy chairperson
January 17, 2016 (JUBA) – The chairperson of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC), Festus Mogae has appointed Guinea’s former prime minister, François Lounceny Fall as his deputy.
“Mr. Fall is a distinguished public servant who has ably served his country and the United Nations. I welcome his commitment to serve the people of South Sudan in this important role,” Mogae said in a statement, adding that Fall will assume his responsibilities effective from 18 January 2016.
Formerly Guinea’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fall served as a foreign affairs minister before he become the prime minister.
The ex-Guinean prime minister also worked as Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Somalia, before returning to government
