Gbudue state authorities dissolve all unions and associations
August 31, 2016 (YAMBIO) – Authorities in Gbudue, one of South Sudan’s new states have dissolved all unions and associations demanding that they be registered afresh.
The acting state governor Jackson Ezekiel Buguwa issued the order, which has now affect youth unions, the women union and chamber of commerce in the state.
The order issued on Wednesday also gave responsibility to the minister of education, gender and child welfare to start the new process of registering unions and associations.
It however remains unclear as to what prompted authorities to make such a directive.
Albert Miuka, a resident of Yambio, said speculations was rife that some government oficials were unhappy after these unions failed to mobilise people to rally against the deployment of foreign force into South Sudan, which the African Union approved.
