Sudanese minister of Interior inspects security situation in Darfur

KHARTOUM, Nov 8, 2004 (SUNA) — The Minister of Interior and representative of the President of the Republic in Darfur states, Maj. Gen. Abdul-Rahim Mohamed Hussein, and the accompanying delegation have paid visits to South and North Darfur States to inspect the security and humanitarian conditions, the voluntary repatriation of displaced people as well as implementation of rehabilitation projects.

Meanwhile, the Wali (governor) of North Darfur State, Osman Mohamed Yousif Kibir, announced that 471 displaced families from two camps in his state have returned to their home areas during the period from October 27 and till now.

He said that the voluntary repatriation of displaced people and implementation of rehabilitation programmes are being continued in the state.
