Sudan’s Bashir to visit Libya after Ouagadougou Francophone Summit

KHARTOUM, Sudan, Nov 27, 2004 (PANA) — Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir is scheduled to visit Libya after the closing session of the two-day Francophone Summit in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso Saturday, the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported.

saying the President’s visit, at the invitation of Libyan
Leader Colonel Moammar Kadhafi would discuss Tripoli’s
efforts towards ending the conflict in Sudan’s western
region of Darfur.

Libya has hosted peace talks on the Sudan conflict.

On the sidelines of the Ouagadougou summit, Bashir was said to
have hold talks with a number of leaders, including President
Jacques Chirac of France.
