Kanartel to begin soon on Sudan’s second fixed-line network
ABU DHABI, Dec 1 (AFP) — Kanartel, the consortium led by the UAEs Etisalat, will soon begin work on Sudans second fixed-line telephone network and plans to provide 500,000 lines in the first year of its operation, Etisalat CEO Mohammed Omran said in a statement Wednesday.
Kanartel won the Sudan contract recently with a 45 million euro bid.
Etisalat owns 40 per cent of Kanartel and will manage, operate and maintain the Kanartel network, Omran said.
