Eritrea appoints ambassador to Israel

ASMARA, Dec 23, 2004 (Shabait.com) — Eritrea’s Ambassador to Israel Tesfamariam Tekeste presented his credentials to the president of Israel, Moshe Qatzav, on 21 December.

During the meeting, Ambassador Tesfamariam assured President Moshe Qatzav that the Eritrean government is willing to strengthen and broaden bilateral relations in all development endeavours between both countries.

He disclosed, in detail, that Eritrea is engaged in various development activities through the Warsay-Yikaalo — military-driven development campaigns– project, and explained about the stalled Eritrean-Ethiopian peace process due to Ethiopia’s rejection of the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission ruling.

President Moshe Qatzav wished his Eritrean counterpart full health, and development and economic growth to the Eritrean people, and added that his country is willing to further relations among both countries. He also extended an invitation to President Isayas Afewerki to visit Israel.
