Sudanese VP praises Kenyan chief mediator
KHARTOUM, Jan 17, 2005 (SUNA) — The First Vice President, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, has praised the role played by the Kenyan special envoy for peace in Sudan and IGAD’s Chief Mediator, Gen. Lazaras Symbiuo for realization of peace in Sudan.
This came when the First Vice President received the Kenyan and IGAD envoy at his office at the Republican Palace Monday.
Taha has appreciated the efforts which had been exerted toward the signing of the final peace agreement as well as the contribution of IGAD to the peace process in Sudan.
Meanwhile, Gen. Symbiuo affirmed that peace has been achieved through Sudanese will and sincere desire of the Sudanese government and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement
