Sudanese interior minister lauds ties with Ethiopia
KHARTOUM, Apr 3, 2005 (Sudan Tribune) — The minister of interior, Abdelrahim Mohamed Hussein, has praised the relations between Sudan and Ethiopia, describing the bilateral ties as distinguished.
This came during his visit to Al-Galabat locality, Gedarif State –eastern Sudan– where he met with the Ethiopian Minister of Federal Affairs, Abay Tsehaye, and a number of Ethiopian officials.
The minister also inspected situation at the agricultural schemes in Al-Fashaga al-Sughra area.
In a press statement to SUNA, the minister said that the meeting of the two sides has set up a joint committee to solve farmers’ disputes, explaining that this committee will hold its first meeting on 10 April.
Meanwhile, the Ethiopian minister expressed his satisfaction over outcome of the meeting, saying that it is a step forward in the efforts to solve the problems of farmers at the joint border.
