Umma Party for Reform joins National Constitution Commission
KHARTOUM, May 14 (SUNA) — Co-spokesman of the National Constitution Commission, Yasser Arman, announced that representatives of the Umma Party for Reform and Modernization of Mubarak al-Fadil and the Democratic Front of Peter Abdelrahman Souly have joined the work of the National Constitution Commission.
In a daily joint press conference of the Commission, Arman said that the commission received on Saturday a message from children rights activists calling for inclusion of children rights in the Constitution, adding that the commission actually began formulating an item in the Constitution concerning children rights.
The other co-spokesman of the National Constitution Commission, Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed, said that the commission welcomes any proposals from the political forces.
He said that the commission is adopting the method of consensus of voting or the majority of two thirds of the members to ratify any item in the Constitution.
He indicated that the Commission’s work will continue even after the ratification of the Construction to follow up implementation of the comprehensive peace process.
