Ukrainian deputy foreign minister opens consulate in Sudan
HARTOUM, May 15, 2005 (SUNA) — The Ukrainian deputy foreign minister, Volodymyr Makukha, officially opened on Sunday the Consulate of Ukraine in Khartoum in the presence of officials from the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During a media conference today, the Ukrainian official affirmed that there was a great progress in their bilateral relations, especially after the opening of the consulate.
He went on to say, that the opening of the consulate comes as a step to boost more cooperation and consultations between the two countries in order to serve the two peoples’ interests in political and economic fields, besides coordinating the efforts of the leaderships of the two countries in regional and international forums.
It is worth noting that Sudan will open a consulate in Ukraine in the near future.
