Annan to visit Ethiopia, Sudan next week

UNITED NATIONS, May 19, 2005 (KUNA) — Secretary-General Kofi Annan will travel to Ethiopia and Sudan next week, well-informed sources told KUNA on Thursday.

Annan will leave New York on Tuesday evening. He will co-host the African Union’s pledging conference on financial and logistical support for the African Mission in Sudan, scheduled for May 26 in Addis Abeba.

He is also scheduled to visit Khartoum on May 27 and Darfur and Rumbek on May 28.
