Sudan out of the list of the least developed countries soon- official
KASSALA, May 24, 2005 (SUNA) — The Minister of Finance, Al-Zubair Ahmed Hassan, said that Sudan will get out of the list of the least developed countries, adding that the per capita income of the citizens per day will be more than two dollars.
Addressing the Conference of East Sudan Issues in Kassala town, the minister said that the economy of east Sudan depends on the agricultural and animal resources fields.
In his paper at the conference, the minister reviewed progress of the development and services, referring to the increase of hospitals, health centres and asphalted roads in the states of east Sudan.
He also pointed to the development projects and highways which are being established in the Red Sea State.
The Minister of Finance said that Atbara and Port-Sudan cities will be liked with the national electricity power network from Merowe Dam.
