Sudanese woman gives birth to quadruplets
KHARTOUM, Sudan, Aug 31, 2003 (PANA) — A Sudanese woman Saturday gave birth to four babies, including two boys and two girls, the private news agency, Sudanese Media Centre (SMC) reported Sunday.
SMC said Manal Mohammed Saeed, 27, delivered the quadruplet naturally at a public hospital in Shendi, about 160 km north of Khartoum.
Doctor el Bagir Ibrahim, who handled the delivery, said the mother and four babies were “in stable condition.”
Ibrahim recalled that a relative of Manal had only three days before, given birth to triplets in the same hospital.
It was Manal’s first delivery.
“I had a feeling there were more than one baby in my womb, but I never thought they would be four,” she said, adding “I am very happy.”
