Sudan’s Garang hails moving of constitutional commission to south
RUMBEK, May 26, 2005 (SUNA) — The chairman of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), John Garang, has affirmed that the move of the National Constitution Review Commission to Rumbek town southern Sudan shows the seriousness of the government and the SPLM in implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and an indicator of real peace.

In a statement to SUNA following receiving co-chairmen of the commission, Abel Alier and Abdallah Idris at his residence here Thursday, Garang welcomed the delegation, wishing them good stay in Rumbek.
Meanwhile, co-spokesman of the commission, Al-Dirdiri Muhammad Ahmad, pointed out, in a statement to SUNA following the meeting, that the call was meant to brief Dr Garang on the steps made by the commission.
Ahmad added that the delegation affirmed to Garang that the commission would complete its task at the time set by the peace agreement.
