India to train Sudanese diplomats

NEW DELHI, Jun 7, 2005 (IANS) — India has agreed to train Sudanese diplomats at its Foreign Services Institute (FSI) – a nursery for budding diplomats that has acquired a global profile for its specialized courses blending practical skills and theories of statecraft.

M_Ismail1.jpgExternal Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh agreed to the request of Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Osman Ismail, on a three-day visit here, for the training of Sudanese diplomats in India.

“We wish to involve Indians in our human resource training programmes. Sudan would like our diplomats to be trained in India,” Ismail told reporters.

The FSI has been a prized address for the training of diplomats, specially from third world countries like Afghanistan and some African countries.
