Sudanese president to attend signing of Cairo agreement

KHARTOUM, June 17, 2005 (SUNA) — President Omar al-Bashir on Saturday will leave for Cairo to attend the signing of a final agreement between the government and National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Other officials and notable personalities will attend the signing. Heads of friendly and sisterly countries, invited by Egypt, will attend the ceremony.
The agreement resulted from a series of talks which began last week in the Egyptian capital of Cairo. The meetings drew [together] First Vice-President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, NDA Chairman Mohamed Osman al-Mirghani and Sudan People Liberation Movement’s Chairman Dr John Garang.
