Sudan’s trials of Darfur war crimes to resume next week
ALFASHIR, June 29, 2005 (SUNA) — The criminal court for Darfur incidents is to begin its work in Al-Fashir, capital of Northern Darfur State, next Saturday 2 July by considering criminal suits prepared by the legal administration in the state.
The chairman of the court, High Court Judge Muhammad Sa’id Abkam, who arrived in Al-Fashir Tuesday 28 June, said in a statement to SUNA that they started reviewing the cases that come under the court’s jurisdictions prior to start considering them as of next Saturday 2 July.
Judge Abkam lauded the cooperation the court had found from all concerned authorities in Southern Darfur State during their work there.
