Eritrean ruling party congratulates Sudan’s Turabi on his release

ASMARA, July 1, 2005 (ERINA) — On behalf of President Isaias Afwerki, the people and government of Eritrea, Al-Amin Mohammed Seid, Secretary of the PFDJ, congratulated Hassan Al-Turabi, Secretary of the Popular Congress (PC) party, upon his release from detention.
The PFDJ Secretary extended his congratulations during a telephone conversation with Hassan Al-Turabi. In the telephone conversation, Al-Turabi praised the support of President Isaias Afwerki, the people and Government of Eritrea to promote peace in the Sudan, as well as the sympathy they had demonstrated towards the Sudanese people.
Hassan Al-Turabi also expressed the desire of the PC to work together with the Eritrean leadership in the interest of strengthening Eritrean-Sudanese ties, promoting lasting peace, as well as peace and stability in the region.
Turabi wished President Isaias good health and progress and prosperity to the Eritrean people.
