President Al-Bashir receives message from Chadian envoy
Khartoum, Sep 10, 2003 (SUNA) — President of the Republic Gen Umar al- Bashir has praised the role which is being played by the president of Chad, Idriss Deby and his government for the realization of security and stability at the border area between Sudan and Chad.
This came when the president received Wednesday in the Republican Palace, the visiting envoy and adviser of the Chadian president, Abu-Bakr Manani, who conveyed to President Al-Bashir a verbal message from President Deby.
The message of President Deby was dealing with progress of the bilateral relations and means of consolidating them further.
President Al-Bashir has lauded the efforts of sister Chad for boosting the security and stability in Darfur states [western Sudan], besides its keenness to cement its relations with Sudan.
In a statement to SUNA, the presidential affairs minister, Dr Al- Tayyib Ibrahim Muhammad Khayr, said that the visit of the Chadian president’s envoy comes in the context of the continuous contacts between the two countries, as well as Chad’s efforts for boosting the security and peace at the area.
He added that the sponsorship of presidents Al-Bashir and Deby to the recent Abeche agreement provides a basic guarantee for implementation of the agreement.
