President Isaias sends congratulatory messages

ASMARA, July 8, 2005 (Shabait) — President Isaias Afwerki sent messages of congratulations to President Omar Al Basher, Dr. John Garang and Ali Osman Mohamed for their appointment as the president, first vice president and second vice president of the Sudanese republic respectively.

On behalf of the people and government of Eritrea and on his own behalf, President Isaias in his message expressed pleasure for the people of Sudan for the implementation of the comprehensive peace agreement.

President Isaias also expressed his good wishes for the transition stage of a united national Sudanese government and intensive participation of Sudanese political forces to find strong founded comprehensive political solutions to all the unsolved issues in the Sudan.

President Isaias assured the continuation of Eritrea’s efforts to take the Sudanese political progress to its final stage and that Eritrea’s stand and initiative in the Sudanese case is well in place.

Finalizing his message, President Isaias wished progress to the appointed Sudanese authorities in their work, as well as peace and prosperity to the Sudanese people.
