Sudanese president, his two deputies discuss peace implementation

KHARTOUM, July 11, 2005 (SUNA) — Sudanese president of the Republic Omer Al-Bashir discussed with the First Vice-president, John Garang, and Vice-President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, the implementation of the peace agreement.

The meeting of the President and his two deputies, which was held at the Republican Palace Sunday, reviewed issues pertinent to establishment of a federal government and governments at states’ level to carry out task during the coming period, lifting state of emergency all over the country, excluding the three states of Darfur, and the States of Red Sea and Kassala.

The meeting also decided establishment of a mechanism and a committee for political consultation between the National Congress (NC) and Sudan’s People Liberation Movement (SPLM) to prepare for formation of the national unity government.

The State Minister at Presidency of the Republic, Yahia Hussein, said in statement to SUNA that the President of South Sudan Government will start consultation for formation of an acting administration to carry out tasks in South Sudan till formation of the government of South Sudan.

He added that the President and his two deputies also agreed on establishing a Committee for Political Consultation between the NC and SPLM to form the constitution commission which is to formulate the constitution of South Sudan.
